Summer Honors Scholarship Application 2017


Application Deadline:  March 8, 2017

Students receiving a scholarship must attend the mandatory orientation on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 4:30pm

High School Sophomore and Junior Requirements:

  1. Students must have completed the 10th grade prior to enrolling in courses.

  2. A student applying for a scholarship must meet High School Honors Program requirements as outlined on the Accelerated High School Enrollment Form or the Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit Program Recommendation Form (Cumulative 2.5 Un-weighted GPA).  One of these forms will be required upon registration for classes.  Please see Mrs. Page to receive this form when the Bevill State CC Summer Schedule is open.

  3. You must complete an Application for Admission. (Paper applications are available on Mrs. Page's Counseling Table or you may apply online)

  4. All scholarship recipients must attend the mandatory orientation on May 2, 2017.


   High School Sophomore and Junior Requirements:

  1. Students must complete an Application for Admissions and meet eligibility requirements for admission.  Students must be eligible for high school graduation May 2017 with at least a 3.0 GPA.

  2. While not required, students are strongly encouraged to apply for a Federal Pell Grant using the online FAFSA application at .  Students who are eligible may receive Pell Grant funding in addition to the scholarship.  Use School Code:  005733

* Note: Students who meet eligibility requirements can receive 2 fee waivers for the ACT and SAT per lifetime for testing as 11th and 12th graders.  Please see school administration or a counselor if you need more information concerning a fee waiver.

PSAT Testing Date

Wednesday October 19, 2016

* Offered to 10th and 11th grade students at a cost.  By taking the PSAT, 10th grade students have the opportunity of testing experience and 11th grade students will be eligible for National Merit Scholarship.

   Students taking tests will need to bring the following items to testing:
  • two #2 pencils 
  • a non-programmable calculator

General Information

All students registered at Hamilton High School will have a complete file containing his/her school record: various standardized test results; attendance records; subjects taken and grades; class rank and date of graduation.

Records Reminder: Please note all records must contain an updated Alabama Immunization Form (Blue Slip), Home Language Survey (Orange Form), and an Alabama Employment Survey (Purple Form)



Transcripts are provided by the guidance office. Current students wishing a transcript of his/her grades sent to another institution should obtain a "Transcript Request Form" from the guidance office and fill it out completely.  Previous students may visit the school to obtain a transcript request form or they can locate a form online by visiting the transcript request form tab.


Transfer Students

Official transcripts for transfer students entering Hamilton High School will be reviewed.  Students will receive the credit (Carnegie units) granted by all accredited schools.
